Navratri 2021 - Update

Some of this information is now out of date. For up to date information see the follow page - Navratri ‘21

Dear Members and fellow Suthars,

Team SVA has decided that Navratri 2021 will go ahead.

Dates: 7th October 2021 to 15th October 2021.
Aatham will be held on 14th October 2021.
Daily timing: 8:15pm onwards.
Venue: Read further for more information.

However, this year Navratri will be held on a much smaller scale than what you have seen for many decades. The team has to balance the importance of this auspicious event versus the safety of everyone due to the ongoing situation faced worldwide. So this year, we have no choice but to add restrictions in how we celebrate Navratri 2021.

We have decided Navratri 2021 will be held at our Suthar function hall. Attendance will be limited to 30 people daily, excluding volunteers. Tickets will have to be purchased in advance online via www.suthar.uk and more details on this will be available soon.

All attendees will be required to provide proof of double vaccination (NHS covid pass) where the second dose must have been 14 days prior to the day you may be attending.  Security at the entrance may request additional photo ID to verify the individuals' vaccination proof to match their identity.

Daily aarti will be limited to 5 per day. On Aatham, the team will allow all to take darshan from 6pm to 7.30pm prior to the main event commencing. This will be conducted with a one way system where one can take darshan and will be guided to the exit immediately after, no gathering or greeting others will be allowed so everyone can have the opportunity to take darshan on Aatham.

Tickets will be priced at £3 daily. Snacks and bottled drinks will be provided at a nominal cost. Please note, although we are working on the disability access, the works may not be completed in time for Navratri. In that case, there will only be a flight of stairs to reach the main hall.

Sanitisation stations will be visible throughout the hall.

All above is subject to current government guidelines and we endeavour to make the event safe and enjoyable for all. We will also stream the event live on our social media/online platforms.

More updates will be provided soon.
